Crafting dead map the walking dead12/27/2022 ![]() ![]() If you don’t remember where that is just go down into the catacombs from the Cemetery with your base in it, and take the route that does not go to the church. Once you have the code you can go back to the Jazz Man park any time of night. The code will be on a little table against one of the walls of the Living Room with the crashed car in it. Around the back of that house you can break through some boards blocking the back door and get inside. There is one other building in next to The Bastion though, a little house with a car crashed into it. Getting the code to the safe requires you to get much further on into the game.Įventually one of Casey’s missions will take you to The Bastion, a map centered around a fortified apartment block in the middle of the map. You’ll find the safe containing this recipe really early on in the Jazz Park, which you can get to through the catacombs in the Cemetery. If you’re not ready for a fight to get into the building, then come back another time when the Tower troops are gone. You might be able to sneak to get the stash, but sneaking in far enough to get the recipe is extremely difficult. That’s because it is inside the house itself, on the counter in the kitchen. The Tower stash can be gotten easily enough by sneaking through a broken wall at the side of the house and taking it from the fountain, but the Jambalaya recipe is harder to retrieve. Some Reclaimed soldiers will attack the front entrance, and the house itself has a huge banner saying “TOWER”. The house itself is pretty conspicuous the first time you show up to Via Corolla. This is also the second map that you unlock when playing the game, and also contains the first tower stash that May wants you to steal. The Jambalaya schematic can be found on the Via Corolla map. If you want to save on materials for weapon crafting, this is a great food item to consume to get your stamina back. All we learned during this playtest will help make the game better, and we can’t wait for everyone to see the next build.Jambalaya is arguably the most useful food item in the game, as eating it reduces how quickly your weapons deteriorate for an entire day. Players figured out how to “jail” other survivors very, very quickly. We also learned not to underestimate how quickly players will exploit systems. In future playtests, we’ll find ways to make these systems clearer. Many players were confused about some of the specifics on building, resource collection and zone transitions. We were able to confirm some specific problem areas that need work before the next playtest. Suggesting they were having fun merely exploring and socializing. People played far beyond the “designed content” for the demo. Now that we have a baseline for comparison, future playtests will have larger play areas. The current demo was nine zones - 1/9 of a County. With so many players, what we thought was a big map turned out to feel pretty small. We saw players mostly engaging in the designed activities and loops the way the team intended, which is encouraging and means we’ve been working in the right direction. Players definitely loved when heads flew off walkers, and luckily we already have more carnage in the works. This is the most validating part of the demo for me, and my favorite takeaway. A fun game is really, really hard to make and that means we have a super solid base that we can build our experience off of. Despite some server resets and reactive bug fixes, players really seemed to enjoy the early game build that was showcased during the demo. We saw tons of players hop into the demo, and our server tech definitely performed well for its first major stress test. Thanks to On Chain Gaming for hosting a livestream so players that missed the demo can still experience it! What We Learned ![]()
